This summer Glasgow will be hosting the Commonwealth Games and the city has already seen investment and improvements to its infrastructure. As well as the games there will be many events held across the city and one makes a welcome return after last year’s success.
The Vintage Glasgow: Merchant City Festival is held in the Merchant City area of Glasgow as you might imagine, a five minute walk East of the city centre and home to a number of great venues, restaurants, pubs and shops. The festival itself sees everything from street markets and international food to events in some of the best venues the city has to offer. Take a look at this short video from last years event with creator Wayne Hemmingway explaining what the festival is all about.
For accommodation Fraser Suites have some great serviced apartments in the merchant city area of Glasgow so you will be right in the thick of the action. For more information visit http://glasgow.frasershospitality.com/.
One event in particular, the Soul Casino is curated by Eddie Piller who, along with other DJ’s yet to be announced, spin everything from Northern Soul, Modern Soul and Disco to Jazz, Funk and Rare Groove.
Held in the beautiful Old Fruitmarket the venue alone is worth visiting so remember to keep your eye out for this one. For more information or to buy tickets go here.
